Broncos Officially Sign with Channel 9

It has been rumored for days and now it’s true: after severing ties with KCNC-CBS4, the Broncos have signed with KUSA-Channel 9 in a two year deal that makes Channel 9 the official Broncos station, including a weekly program with Broncos executive vice president John Elway. Here’s more from the Denver Post, who broke the story:

“We are fortunate to have a partnership with KUSA-TV that enables us to reach out to them through all 9NEWS platforms with in-depth, exclusive programming, KUSA’s emphasis on community involvement also provides our organization with many outreach opportunities in the region,” Broncos President Joe Ellis said in a statement. “We look forward to working with KUSA and its award-winning staff to provide quality Broncos content that exceeds our fans’ expectations, delivering comprehensive coverage year round and bringing them closer than ever to this team.”

This could be seen as a big loss for Channel 4, as they enjoyed being the “Broncos Insiders”. However, CBS still will broadcast 12 Broncos games in the next season (if it comes, of course), and on the other hand , the Broncos aren’t that great anyway, so maybe it’s not such a big loss for them.
