KDVR.com Launches Hyperlocal Sites

KDVR.com launched their series of hyperlocal sites today. KDVR’s parent company, Local TV LLC, has been rolling out hyperlocal sites in co-operation with DataSphere across twelve markets.

I’m slightly surprised KDVR didn’t make a bigger splash about this today. It was only announced about 45 minutes into the 9pm news tonight, and I didn’t find much else online today except for this article on KDVR.com:

Starting today, KDVR.com users will see their neighborhood news headlines on the right side of the home page. Click on the “change” button to find your area.

“Our viewers have so many options for general Colorado news that we believe there’s a strong desire for a more localized news experience online,” says FOX31 Senior Web Producer Marc Sternfield. “We’re starting with 17 major neighborhoods today, but we plan to add a lot more.”
